Mythos is comprised of nine different Worlds, each one having any numberof Floors (in practice, between 10 and 15 floors per world are used).
Each World has its own terrain, religion (see Oracles in Rooms) and Monsters. Monsters may appear in more than one world, as long as the environmental requirements are met (i.e. don't look for a Fire Giant in the arctic).
These Worlds are laid out in a 3x3 grid.and are connected on all sides by Gates. Gates are only found on the "top-most" (0) floor of each World. Move onto any Gate and press the activate key to enter the adjoining World.
World Names
Each World has a randomly-assigned name that reflects the culture of that world, and is always referred to as such within each adventure.
Time & Light
Time always passes in Mythos regardless of what you are doing (except when paused). An on-screen indicator displays the approximate time of day or night. Ambient light also follows time, cycling through light and dark phases. Currently, you begin each game in the "early morning" (overcast) hours of a new day. A "Time in Adventure" display in the Player Stats dialog tells you how long you've been adventuring.
